BATON ROUGE -- To take on one of the top teams in the country, let alone in the state is a tall task by itself.
But to also take on a team that has outscored their first two playoff opponents by an average of 78 points a game is another story.

VILLE PLATTE -- A 19-0 run in the final 4:47 of the game allowed the Madison High Jaguars to push past the Ville Platte High Bulldogs and take a 51-40 win in a Class 3A quarterfinal game here Friday night.

HAMMOND – A valiant comeback attempt fell short in the fourth quarter, as the Mamou Lady Demons were eliminated from the playoffs with a 54-44 loss to the Rayville Lady Hornets in the state semi-finals here Wednesday afternoon.

The first round of the playoffs were not kind to the Pine Prairie Panthers and the Sacred Heart Trojans Friday night.
Pine Prairie traveled to Longville to take on the South Beauregard Knights in a Class 3A first round playoff game and came away an 87-70 loser.
