Jamboree time

This past Friday, each of the five Evangeline Parish football teams took to the gridiron to find out if their hard work and dedication paid off, as each club participated in a fall scrimmage.

A coaching legend

When you take in the Louisiana high school scene over the past 60 years, many famous names pop up in the coaching ranks.
But, when it comes to other intangibles besides just wins, one name stands above all the others. That name is Marion Dutton Wall.

The next step

A 4-0 start in 2016 had the Sacred Heart Trojans thinking of a deep Divison III playoff run.

Making the drive

Only a few power points separated Ville Platte High from the 2016 playoffs. And, in retrospect, it may have been only been four actual points that kept the Bulldogs from repeating another playoff appearance.

Youth movement

MAMOU -- The most important thing on the Mamou High Demon’s mind this coming football season is to get into the win column.

Hoping for more

PINE PRAIRIE -- It was deja vu all over again for the Pine Prairie Panthers in 2016, with one exception.

Back to work

BASILE – No one in Bearcat country was happy with Basile’s 3-8 finish last football season.
The Bearcats had three straight quarterfinal appearances and were 31-5 from 2013 to 2015.

Gearing up

Hard to believe, but the LHSAA High School football season is inching upon us everyday.

Ole’ Miss bound

It has been a tremendous run for Pine Prairie native Julia Johnson.
The upcoming college freshman (technically a sophomore) has enjoyed a tremendous last three years on the golf course, playing in some of the most prestigious tournaments throughout the country.

Catching a wave

As a freshman football player three years ago, Kendall Ardoin came into the Tulane program like a deer caught in headlights.
Now, the Junior tight end can honestly say that he has become one of the wise old mentors, ready to give advice to any younger player that seeks it out.
