The last change in the Eunice mayor’s pay was a 3 percent increase in 1996.
City Council members seem to think another raise is needed, but aren’t sure if now the’s right time.
Mayor Bob Morris included a $12,000 raise for himself in the budget for the year beginning July 1.

The proposed city budget for the year beginning July 1 reverses a three-year run of operating in the black and in effect predicts a $1 million swing in the city’s financial condition.
Mayor Bob Morris predicts essentially flat revenues from July 1, 2008 through June 30, 2009, while anticipating about a four percent increase in expenses.

Tri Parish Rodeo Club members think the trail to state and national championships is a happy one.
Later this month, they plan to bring home buckles proving it.
The Tri Parish Fair Rodeo Club has been in existence since 1992 with Ricky and Donna Thibodeaux playing an instrumental part in getting it started.

Memorial Day was barely over when a scrapbook was brought to the Eunice Depot Museum that deals with the local scrap drives that were held at the onset of World War ll.
The scrapbook was found at Eunice High and instead of throwing it out, a thoughtful soul brought it to the depot.
