Ban on drilling near I-10 continues

Baton Rouge — Louisiana Commissioner of Conservation James Welsh has issued today a second continuance of a drilling ban imposed last November, prohibiting any new permits for wells to be drilled within a quarter of a mile of an interstate highway.

EUNICE - Funeral services were held for Alma Landreneau Brown, 80, of Eunice, at St. Thomas Roman Catholic Church in Savoy at 1 p.m., Tuesday, May 27. Burial followed in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery in Eunice.

MPD solve armed robbery, one charged

MAMOU - The Mamou Police Department has charged a local man with armed robbery after he allegedly robbed a group of young men who were playing video games at a residence in Mamou.
