Lafayette – St. Martin Parish players helped Team Louisiana (BMA All-Stars) capture the state runner-up trophy in the 15-under division held at the Earl K. Long Gym on the ULL campus this past weekend.

Breaux Bridge – Breaux Bridge High baseball player Jared Guidry and Tiger coach Kyle Cormier have been selected to participate in the Louisiana High School Coaches Association All-Star game to be played Friday at 7:30 p.m. at Bringhurst Field in Alexandria.

Poplarville, Miss. – The LSU Eunice Tiger baseball team won the Region 23 Division II Junior College baseball tournament here this past weekend, winning four-of-five games in the tourney competition.

Robert Bienvenu of St. Martinville earned 3rd place honors in the bench press, competing in the Masters Division (age 55-59) of the Biggest Bench Press on the River XI event in Baton Rouge May 10. Bienvenu lifted 180 pounds despite an injury.

Keeley Elizabeth Johnson, 4, was fishing with her dad and caught her first fish in Bayou Portage. Keeley is the daughter of Jeremy and Keisha Johnson of Breaux Bridge.

Twelve graduates of St. Martin Parish public schools completed their high school honors curriculum with perfect 4.0 grade point averages.
