EUNICE - LSU at Eunice awarded 149 degrees during commencement ceremonies in the LSUE Health and Physical Education Building.

Louisiana State University at Eunice's Bengals will play Des Moines (Iowa) Area Community College at 7:30 p.m. Saturday in the first round of the NJCAA World Series.
The Bengals rallied in the eighth inning Sunday night to win the Region 23 championship.

The Saddle Tramp Riding Arena in Church Point served as the setting for the evening double-ring ceremony uniting Deborah Claire Olivier and Jason Paul Fontenot in holy matrimony. The ceremony was held on April 12 at 6:30 p.m.
Parents of the bride are Larry and Theresa Olivier of Church Point, and parents of the groom are Dora Chandler of Basile and Hersey Fontenot of Lake Charles.
Officiating the ceremony was Rev. Alton B. Cormier.

St. Thomas More Catholic Church in Eunice served as the setting for the evening ceremony uniting Laurie Anne Meyer and John Randall Young, II, in holy matrimony. The ceremony was held on April 4 at 7 p.m.
Parents of the bride are Leonard John and Pearl Meyer of Roberts Cove, and parents of the groom are John Randall and Glenda Young of Eunice.
Officiating the ceremony was Father Cedric Sonnier.
