The city will accept the low bid for equipment needed at the Wastewater Plant, provided City Attorney Jacque Pucheu is satisfied that details overlooked in the bid package can be met within the law.

The discourse at Tuesday’s City Council meeting between Mayor Bob Morris and Clifton Lemelle over use of a city ball field brings to mind a quote attributed to the late Yankees manager Casey Stengel:

The new Eunice hospital will be located on the Theophile Moosa tract near the St. Mathilda church on the Opelousas road. Three acres will be donated by Moosa for the development with the provision the facility be named Moosa Memorial Hospital for his father, K. Moosa, grandfather of hospital district chairman Wilson Moosa.
