The Mamou Town Council, during a special meeting Thursday, May 8, appointed Helen Saucier to serve the remainder of her late husband, J.L. Saucier’s, term as District Four alderman.

CROWLEY – Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 13, 2008 at St. Theresa Catholic Church for Louella Keller, 70, who died May 6, 2008 at Memorial Herman Southwest Hospital in Houston.

Carencro – Funeral services will be held Wednesday, April 30, 2008, at 10 a.m. in Evangeline Memorial Gardens Chapel for Preston Arista Olivier, 83, who passed away Sunday, April 27, 2008, at 8:09 p.m. at Doctor’s Hospital in Opelousas.

Ville Platte – Funeral services were held Tuesday, April 22, 2008, at a 3:30 p.m. at Sacred Heart Roman Catholic Church for Sgt. Joseph A. Richard III age 27, of Grand Prairie, who passed away Monday, April 14, 2008, in Baghdad, Iraq, of wounds sustained when his vehicle encountered an improvised explosive device. He was assigned to the 4th Brigade Special Troops Battalion, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry), located at Port Polk, La.

Broussard – Funeral services were held Monday, April 28, 2008, at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Alberta F. Williams, 90, who passed away April 24, 2008, at Our Lady of Lourdes Regional Medical Center.
