School plan won't be unveiled Thursday

The federal government-Bi-Racial Committee plan for reorganization of St. Landry Parish schools will not be revealed at Thursday's School Board meeting.

Supt. Michael Nassif said Wednesday that due to an inadvertent omission in the proposed plan its unveiling will be delayed until an as-yet-unspecified time.

Cecilia loses to Rayville

With the No. 3-seeded Bulldogs down 3-0 in the bottom of the seventh, bases loaded and no outs, Rayville reliever Brian Colson froze the score to win in a shutout over the 'Dogs in the Class 3A state regionals Tuesday.

EUNICE-Funeral Services for Hazel Virginia Jenkins, 89, were held on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. at First Baptist Church in Eunice.  Burial followed in the Mt. Calvary Cemetery with Pastor Tim Moffett officiating.

Baseball playoffs over for Eunice schools

Eunice High School and St. Edmunds High School were eliminated from the high school baseball playoffs Tuesday.

Ascension Catholic used a five-run sixth inning to surprise St. Eds 6-3 and second seed Teurlings Catholic defeated Eunice High 8-2.

AAU basketball tourney May 2-4 tourney May 2-4

The Louisiana AAU boys basketball tournament will be held at Centerville High School and West St. Mary High School over the weekend of May 2-4.
