In July, Marcy Boudreaux-Johnson represented the Louisiana Council for Exceptional Children (CEC) at the 2015 Council for Exceptional Children Legislative Summit in Alexandria, Virginia.

The Epsilon Sigma chapter of Beta Sigma Phi recently presented its 22nd annual scholarship. The 2015 recipient is Ainsley McDaniel, the daughter of Scott McDaniel and Denise McDaniel. She plans to attend LSU in Baton Rouge to further her education.

The Mamou Rotary Club has reinstated its Garden of the Season awards by presenting the first awards to Mamou High School and the residence of Alvin C. and Cynthia Lavigne.

107 fourth - sixth grade Evangeline Parish 4-H’ers enjoyed a fun-filled week at Grant Walker 4-H Educational Center near Pollock, Louisiana, during the week of July 6-10, 2015.

The Garden of the Month and Civic Pride Award of Merit for July was selected by a committee from the Magnolia Garden Club. The recipient of the Garden of the Month honor was the home of Mr. and Mrs.

VFW Post #3803 and the Ladies’ Auxiliary hosted the monthly barbecue meal for residents of Heritage Manor Nursing Home. The meal, held on July 8, was donated by Pine Prairie Energy Center.
