Henderson – Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 10, 2008, at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church for Birdie Marie Dupuis Guidry, 84, who passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2008, at Lafayette General Medical Center.

Sacred Heart participated in the 37th annual LSU at Eunice District High School Literary, Speech and Drama Rallies.

“God saw you getting tired and a cure was not to be found, so He put his arms around you and said; ‘Come with me.’ With tearful eyes we watched you slowly fade away. Although we loved you dearly, we could not make you stay. A golden heart stopped beating, your hard-working hands put to rest … God broke our hearts to prove to us, He only takes the best.”

Catahoula – Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 14, 2008, at St. Rita Catholic Church for Joseph “T-Joe” Courville Jr., 94, who passed away on Friday, April 11, 2008, at his residence.

The United States Department of Agriculture’s Farm Service Agency (FSA) has authority to provide credit to rural youth loans as a tool to encourage young people to participate in 4-H, Future Farmers of America (FFA) and similar organizations.
