City's financial status remains positive

Through seven months of its fiscal year, the City of Eunice spent $606,000 less than it took in.

While revenues were $209,000 below expected for that period, total expenses were $769,000 under budget.

Crawfish Etouffee Cook-off

Eunice’s World Championship Crawfish Etouffee Cook-off Contest continues to lead the pack as one of the most unique and enjoyable events around.

The Cook-Off will be held Sunday, March 30 at the Northwest Pavilion. Bands will begin at 10 a.m. and continue until 4 p.m.

Lady Eagles victorious

GUEYDAN -- The Lady Eagles of Vermilion Catholic made the 20 mile trip down Highway 14 on Tuesday for an afternoon matchup with the Honeybears of Gueydan. The second time these two hooked up put VC’s Janie Trahan on the hill against Gueydan’s Kobi Benoit.

Patrioits take win over Bobcats

ERATH -- The Kaplan Pirates came into Tuesday’s district contest against Erath as one of the top ranked teams in all of class 3A. They proved that they are deserving of that ranking, as they cruised out of Erath with a 19-2 victory.
