St. Martin is one of 21 Louisiana parishes now failing to meet federal air pollution standards. Not that the air has gotten worsed but that EPA has set tighter new limits effective March 12.

Lafayette — A 24-year-old man with St. Martin ties is undergoing surgery on two broken legs after a boating accident Tuesday night on the Vermilion River here that claimed the life of his fiancee.

More plaintiffs could be added to blowout suit

Lafayette — Silver’s Travel Center in Breaux Bridge, which has sued the company whose well blew out and forced the closure of I-10 last November, is hoping to recruit another 200-plus businesses and property owners as fellow plaintiffs.
