Employee and Resident of the Month announced

Lee Arvie was named Employee of the Month for May at Heritage Manor Nursing Home, and Emmadine Soileau was named Resident of the Month. Arvie is a CNA and takes his job duties very seriously. He is very compassionate to all residents and is a real team player.

Most Active Mother recognized

Eloise Meche was honored during Heritage Manor’s Mother’s Day celebration. She was presented a plaque for being the most active mother. She enjoys most group activities and attends group outings. She has two sons, five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren.

Catholic Daughters attend state convention

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674, won third place in the Cajun Culture Centerpiece Contest.

The Magnolia Garden Club celebrated its spring social at the home of Thurman and Haidee Floyed on Monday, May 4. New club officers were installed during the event.

The Magnolia Garden Club recently chose the Garden of the Month and Civic Pride awards for the month of April. The recipient of the Garden of the Month was S.J. “Joe” Guillotte. He is 93 years old and tends his own flower garden plus a huge vegetable garden and citrus orchard behind his home.

VFW Post #3803 donates monthly barbecue

VFW Post #3803 and sponsor Father Richard Vidrine, right, donated the monthly barbecue meal for residents of Heritage Manor Nursing Home. The April meal was donated in memory of Father Vidrine’s parents, Morris and Hazel Vidrine.
