Six new queens and three kings were selected on Saturday, March 21, at the 2015 Boggy Bayou Youth Pageant held at the fairgrounds. They will be presented at the Queen’s Pageant set for Saturday, April 11, during the 31st Boggy Bayou Festival in Pine Prairie.

The Ville Platte Women’s Association will be sponsoring its 30th annual Miss Ville Platte Scholarship Queen’s Contest on Sunday, March 29. Co-sponsors for the event are Mayor Jennifer Vidrine and the City of Ville Platte.

On Thursday, March 19, the Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674, held its annual French Retreat at the Our Lady Queen of All Saints Family Life Center. Activities included praying the Rosary in French, which was led by court member Verna Guillory.

Devin Paul Ardoin and Bentley James Ardoin, the sons of Jerad and Monique Ardoin of Ville Platte, celebrated their birthdays with a joint party at their home on Saturday, March 14, 2015. Devin turned seven on March 4, and Bentley turned four on March 14.

The Magnolia Garden Club met at the home of Theresa Attales on Tuesday, March 10, with President Mable Foreman presiding. Elaine LaTour and Attales were the hostesses, and a majority of the members were in attendance. Treasurer Glenda Mitchell was present to collect the annual club dues.
