While the District 5-3A title is out of reach for Ville Platte, the 5-4 Bulldogs still have a lot on the line when they travel to Church Point to take on the 6-3 Bears. Game time is set for 7 p.m.

After clinching at least a tie for the District 5-1A title in this past Friday’s 10-0 win over Catholic of Pointe Coupee, the Basile Bearcats (8-1, 4-0) will travel to Eunice to take on the St. Edmund Blue Jays (4-5, 3-1) for the sole possession of the championship trophy.

It all boils down to this for the Pine Prairie Panthers; win and you are in, lose and there may be no tomorrow.
Pine Prairie (3-6, 0-4) comes into their final game of the season hosting the Eunice Bobcats (8-1, 4-0) as the number 36 seed in the playoff power rankings.

In a season of heartbreak and disappointment for the Mamou Demons (0-9, 0-4), there have been some positives that can be taken away in 2015.

VILLE PLATTE -- On a drizzly, overcast homecoming night, the Ville Platte High Bulldogs pretty much solidified a spot in the Class 3A playoffs, defeating the Pine Prairie Panthers by the score of 18-12.

NEW IBERIA -- The loss of a number of players due to injury continues to wreak havoc on the Sacred Heart Trojans.
Sacred Heart traveled to New Iberia Friday to take on annual playoff contender Catholic of New Iberia.

BASILE -- In a game that determined a least a share of the District 5-1A title, the Basile Bearcats held off the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets 10-0 to move to 8-1 on the season and a perfect 4-0 in district play.

MAMOU -- What looked to be a promising start for the Mamou Demons, turned out to be another loss, as the DeQuincy Tigers pulled away from the Demons in the final three periods for a 64-20 win.

As the season winds down, there are teams who know they are in the playoffs and teams who are battling to make sure that they are amongst those teams lucky enough to be in the postseason.

What looked like a promising season after the first four games for the Sacred Heart Trojans has become a nightmare in terms of injuries. The Trojans were 2-2 after those first four games and were starting to gel as a team.
