The Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office reported 10 recent bookings into the parish jail. Arrested were the following persons:
• August Castille, 47, was arrested on November 1, 2016 for distribution/manufacture of a schedule II. Castille’s bond was set at $$35,000.00.

A settlement was reached on Wednesday in a federal lawsuit against former Ville Platte Police Officer Larry Fontenot, who was accused of forcing two women to expose themselves during an August 2015 roadside encounter.

Ville Platte Mayor Jennifer Vidrine announced on Friday morning that City Hall would be closing its doors early due to the winter weather hitting Ville Platte and the rest of Evangeline Parish on Friday. The Ville Platte City Hall will be back open on Monday morning.

The Mamou Police Department is showing no sign of slowing down their efforts to rid their city of crime.
On December 16, 2016 the MPD arrested Coty C. Manuel, of Mamou, after they received a call from a female accusing Manuel of hitting her.
