With two of the better defenses around the area, both Ville Platte and Basile knew it was going to be a struggle to put points on the board.
In fact Basile used its defense to score the only points of the game, as they took a 7-0 win over Ville Platte Friday night at Bulldog stadium.

A blocked punt midway through the last quarter led to a late touchdown, pushing the Port Barre Red Devils to an 18-14 victory over the Sacred Heart Trojans Friday evening.
Sacred Heart falls to 0-2 on the season, while Port Barre evens out its record to 1-1.
