Troupe d’Evangeline Community Theatre recently received a grant through the assistance of the Evangeline Parish Tourism Commission. The grant will assist the group with performances in the fall/winter of 2014 and spring/summer of 2015.

Today, October 19, National Catholic Daughters Day will be celebrated. On Tuesday, October 14, Mayor Jennifer Vidrine signed a proclamation in front of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674 members declaring today Catholic Daughters Day in Ville Platte.

Ville Platte Helping Hands, a non-profit, Christian based organization, is comprised of citizens of Ville Platte and the surrounding areas of varying backgrounds who volunteer their time and resources to restore love, togetherness and good moral values to the city and surrounding areas.
