In a meeting that was short on action items, Mayor Jennifer Vidrine told the Ville Platte City Council that additional “crime” cameras will soon be up around Ville Platte, helping to keep the city safe.

At Tuesday night’s Evangeline Parish Fire District No. 2 board meeting, the board was forced to deny a request to purchase a new fire truck for the Chataignier Fire Department.

KOKI Fox 23 News in Oklahoma reported on Friday night that Hamm had been arrested in a parking lot of a Lowe’s in the town of Owasso, Oklahoma. Hamm is wanted in connection with the July 1 murder of a Shreveport man in Turkey Creek.
