LAFAYETTE – One Acadiana (1A) has announced its second annual Leadership Exchange will bring the nine-parish region’s political, business, economic development, education, and tourism leaders to Lexington, Kentucky, for a dynamic, three-day learning conference.

Judge West upholds ruling in Velazques case but adds stipulation

The State’s motion to reconsider a ruling from Judge Gary Ortego where he denied their request to hold illegal immigrant Arturo Velazques without bond was heard by Judge Chuck West on Thursday.

Turkey Creek Council discusses installing shut off valves

TURKEY CREEK -- Turkey Creek residents that have new water meters installed may also have to now install their own personal shut off valve.
The shut off valve will allow customers to turn their water on or off without the assistance of town workers.

One Acadiana addressed the Ville Platte Chamber of Commerce during the group’s monthly meeting held on Wednesday.

Early voting period for election will run from Nov. 26 to Dec. 3

Evangeline Parish Registrar of Voters Lucas Buller has announced that early voting for the December 10, 2016 Congressional General election will begin Saturday, November 26th and continue through Saturday, December 3rd excluding Sunday November 27th.
