EPSO investigating theft within its department

On Friday, Evangeline Parish Sheriff Eddie Soileau released a statement in regards to a situation involving theft from the EPSO at the hands of one of its own employees.

Farmers throughout Evangeline Parish took a massive hit to their crop production with the widespread flooding that inundated the area because of heavy rains that fell within a few days of each other in late April and early May.

VPPD arrest two armed robbery suspects; search continues for others involved

The Ville Platte Police have arrested two individuals in connection to a shooting and armed robbery that occurred on March 19, 2017.
According to a VPPD press release, at the time of the incident “officers responded to a report of a shooting in the 600 block of East Jackson Street.”

Ville Platte City Council discusses loitering at meeting

The Ville Platte City Council played host to a packed and lively crowd at its regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening. City residents were focused on solving two pressing problems in the city: loitering and flooding.
