The following are game summaries for baseball games played this past week by the parish baseball teams.

Playoffs continue season for three parish teams

The 2015 LHSAA softball playoff brackets were announced on Thursday afternoon. For three Evangeline Parish squads, this means that their seasons will continue.

Trojans continue win streak with key victory

Even with the weather problems putting a halt to most baseball games across the state, the Sacred Heart Trojans managed to squeeze in an important district game on Wednesday against the Catholic of Pointe Coupee Hornets.

Panthers rally in sixth inning for exciting win

This past Saturday, the Pine Prairie Panthers took to the home diamond, hosting a non-district game against the Bolton Bears. The Panthers exploded for six runs in their final at bat to subdue the Bears 10-7. With the win, Pine Prairie improves to 14-7 on the year.

Lady Panthers earn two non-district wins

On Saturday, the Pine Prairie Lady Panthers hit the road to Glenmora to play two non-district games. The Lady Panthers scored a close 6-5 win over the Glenmora Lady Wildcats in the first game. Game two saw Pine Prairie blast the Forest Lady Bulldogs 19-3.

Playoffs loom for Evangeline Parish softball teams

The 2015 high school softball season ended yesterday, with all games having to be completed by 10 p.m. last night. Now the LHSAA will sort through all of the records of teams throughout the state and build the bracket for this year’s playoffs.

Trojans pick up tough non-district win in Bunkie

On Wednesday, the Sacred Heart Trojans traveled to Bunkie to face off against the Panthers in a non-district contest. The 2A Panthers gave the Trojans a scare in the last part of the contest; however, Sacred Heart pushed two runs across the plate late in the ball game to pick up the win.

Despite loss, Lady Demons still district co-champs

On Thursday, the Mamou Lady Demons were hoping to secure an outright district championship with a win over the Kinder Lady Yellow Jackets. Kinder came into the game with two district losses on their record, Mamou with only one loss in district.
