Annual 4-H Awards Banquet held

The 21th Annual 4-H Awards and Recognition Program was held Tuesday, May 13, at the Northside Civic Center. Evangeline Parish’s outstanding youth, organizational leaders, sponsors, parents and activity leaders in the 4-H program were recognized.

Catholic Daughters hold monthly meeting, discuss salad-bingo fund raiser

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674, held its monthly meeting May 7, in the Sacred Heart meeting room, with Regent Barbara Delafosse presiding. A special guest at the meeting was District Deputy Director Betty Soileau of Opelousas.

Employee and Resident of the Month announced

Judy Castille was named Employee of the Month for May at Heritage Manor, and Agnes Arvie was named Resident of the Month. Castille has been employed with Heritage Manor for 34 years and she enjoys her job duties and is very caring to the residents.

101st birthday celebrated

Heritage Manor resident Rose Guillory was treated to a special birthday party to celebrate her 101st birthday. She was born April 29, 1913.

Magnolia Garden Club holds monthly meeting

The Magnolia Garden Club resumed its monthly selection of a yard of the month and civic award for business yards in April and will continue through November. Selections will be made during the second week of each month. The harsh winter has brought about a lot of clean up.
