Emerson Louis Wilson, the son of Mr. and Mrs. Joshua and Genessia "Gee" Wilson of Eunice, celebrated his first birthday with a party at the St. John Family Life Center on Saturday, April 5, 2014. The party theme was "Mickey Mouse." Grandparents are Mr. and Mrs.

To commemorate its 30th anniversary, The Boggy Bayou Festival Board had a poster created to depict the festival’s meaning. Lafayette artist Tony Bernard created the poster that features a fleur de lis with a bayou scene inside.

On Sunday, April 6, at 6:30 p.m., the Sacred Heart High School Drama Club will perform “Under the Big Top,” a drama about a circus in danger of foreclosing unless the owner can repay a loan in three days.

The Junior, Teen and Miss Ville Platte Pageant was held Sunday, March 16, at the Northside Civic Center. This special event was emceed by Torian Paige Veillon and is annually sponsored by the Ville Platte Women’s Association and co-sponsored by the City of Ville Platte.

The Ville Platte Youth Pageant was held Sunday, March 16, at the Northside Civic Center. The newly selected Ville Platte royalty was chosen on Sunday, March 16, 2014, at the Northside Civic Center in Ville Platte.
