When the Sacred Heart Lady Trojans and the Mamou Lady Demons squared off against each other on the softball diamond Monday, the two teams knew the implications of earning a win.

On Tuesday, the Pine Prairie Panthers and the Ville Platte Bulldogs tangled in the opening district baseball game for both teams. The Panthers, aided by a strong first two innings, held off a late Ville Platte rally to take an 8-6 win. With the win, Pine Prairie is now 7-6 on the year.

The Sacred Heart Trojans took to the diamond this weekend to participate in the Eunice High baseball tournament. The Trojans made the most of their trip to St. Landry Parish by winning all three games played. Sacred Heart defeated St. John’s of Plaquemine on Friday by the score of 5-1.

The Sacred Heart Lady Trojans took to the softball diamond this weekend at the Cajun Classic tournament hosted by the Mamou Lady Demons. The Lady Trojans went one for two, defeating Kinder 6-5 and losing to Iota 14-4. Sacred Heart now moves to 6-3 on the year.

The Pine Prairie Lady Panthers paid a visit to Ball, Louisiana to participate in the Tioga softball Tournament this past weekend. The Lady Panthers played two games on Saturday, winning one out of two. Against the Grant Lady Cougars, Pine Prairie was unable to gain an advantage in a 6-3 loss.

The Pine Prairie Panthers traveled to Eunice this past weekend to participate in the John R. Young tournament at Eunice High. The Panthers fell twice on Saturday, only to rebound with a huge victory over the host team on Sunday.

The Mamou Demon baseball team participated in the Eunice High Tournament this past weekend, competing against three of the best teams from around the area. The Demons gave a valiant effort, but could not come up with a victory in any one of the three games played.
