Magnolia Garden Club encourages spring clean up

The Magnolia Garden Club held its monthly meeting at the home of Lola Fontenot on Monday, February 10. Only two members were absent from the meeting conducted by President Hazel Fontenot.

Girl Scouts receive bronze award

Ten Girl Scouts from Troop 2010 received their Girl Scout Bronze Award for their volunteer services rendered at Heritage Manor Nursing Home. The girls visit the nursing home several times a year, bringing smiles and treats to the residents.

Catholic Daughters 60th annivesary celebration set

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674, will celebrate its 60th anniversary with a 6 p.m. mass on Wednesday, February 5, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. A covered dish dinner will immediately follow at the Our Lady Queen of All Saints Family Life Center.

The youth and Miss Ville Platte pageants will be held Sunday, March 16, at the Northside Civic Center beginning at 10:30 a.m.

Farm Bureau Queen’s Contest set for March 9

Evangeline Parish Farm Bureau is now accepting applications for its annual Queen’s Contest. Any single female between the ages of 16 and 19 by June 1, a member of the Evangeline Parish and a daughter of a Farm Bureau family or sponsored by a Farm Bureau member may enter.
