This week, Heritage Manor is celebrating Activity Professionals Week with several special activities. This week was created to give honor and recognition to those individuals who contribute so significantly to residents’ quality of life.

Local Boy Scout Pack #322 from Vidrine visited the Ville Platte Police Department Friday, January 17, for a tour of the facility. The tour was led by Detective/Juvenile DARE Officer Patrick Hall. The scouts visited the facility to work on earning their police and citizenship badges.

Hayleigh Katherine Bogard, the daughter of Jeff and Heather Bogard of Reddell, will celebrate her third birthday with a party at her aunt's house on Saturday, January 25, 2014. The party theme will be "Toy Story." Grandparents are C.J.

Evangeline Parish Farm Bureau is now accepting applications for its annual Queen’s Contest. Any single female between the ages of 16 and 19 by June 1, a resident of Evangeline Parish and a daughter of a Farm Bureau family or sponsored by a Farm Bureau member may enter.

SACRED HEART STUDENTS PARTICIPATE IN CHOICES PROGRAM - On Wednesday, January 8, eighth grade students at Sacred Heart Elementary School heard from several members of the Ville Platte Rotary Club during its presentation of the Choices program.

Dajyra D’Jontae Lewis, the daughter of Trivinskie Ardoin and Venita Doucet of Ville Platte and granddaughter of Mary Ardoin of Ville Platte and Willie Mae Lewis of Port Arthur, Texas, has graduated three times in 2013.

The Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Sacred Heart of Jesus Court #1674, held its monthly meeting on Wednesday, January 8, with Regent Barbara Delafosse officiating. She opened the meeting with prayers and the recitation of the Pledge of Allegiance.
