The area has been impacted it seems by one flood after another since last August. Thursday of this week was the fourth anniversary of a lesser known flood in Baton Rouge where the only victim was my 2009 Dodge Avenger.

For Missy Elliott, hunting was something she started doing as a way to keep the tradition of having female hunters in her family alive. For her husband, Greg, he started hunting as a child growing up in northern Evangeline Parish and never stopped.

The Acadiana area is known for authors and artists who create colorful pieces of art. Each year the Evangeline Parish Library showcases this art at its Book Fest which takes place at the main branch in Ville Platte.
