Funeral services for Lorenia Lafleur were held Friday, March 17, 2017, at Antioch Missionary Baptist Church in Ville Platte. Interment followed in Antioch Missionary Baptist Cemetery in Ville Platte. Pastor E. Ben officiated the service.

The Mamou Police Department’s two month long search for wanted man Market Freeman came to an end on Tuesday, March 14, 2017.
The MPD began searching for Freeman after the 31-year-old man fled from an officer during a routine traffic stop that occurred on January 8, 2017.
