The Pine Prairie Panthers with a record of 3-6 overall and 0-4 in District 5 3-A hosted the Port Barre Red Devils with a similar record of 2-7 overall and 0-4 in district play.

Going into the game against the Oberlin Tigers, the Basile Bearcats were not concerned about if they would be in the Class 1A playoffs, rather if they could maintain a top six seed in the power rankings.

The Ville Platte High Bulldogs have been on a mission all season long; make the playoffs. As with any mission, there will be setbacks. Early in the season, with a very inexperienced offensive unit and a number of key injuries, the Bulldogs went through a few growing pains.

The Sacred Heart Trojans have put up 96 points in the last two games, raising their record to 5-4 on the season and 2-1 in district. They will need all of that and more as they host their long time rival the St. Edmund Blue Jays.

The Pine Prairie Panthers will host the Port Barre Red Devils this Friday in a must needed victory. If the Panthers can come away with a win, they would have an outside chance of sneaking into the top 32 power ranking in class 3A and earn a playoff berth.

The Basile Bearcats have shown that they can win in the biggest of games. The Bearcats proved once again thatthey are a team to be reckoned with as they disposed of another ranked team this past Friday.

The Mamou Green Demons have played about as hard as you can expect in a rebuilding year. The 1-8 Demons are coming off of a 52-28 loss to Lake Arthur this past Friday.

Halloween night was not all treats for the Ville Platte Bulldogs. With a number of starters out for the Bulldogs, they lost to the Church Point Bears with a final score of 34-14.

The Sacred Heart Trojans made the long trek to just north of Bastop to take on the Tigers of Beekman Charter in a non-district contest. The Tigers are in their first year of varsity football and the Trojans really had no idea what to expect from Beekman.

The Tigers of Lake Arthur came trick-or-treating in Mamou Thursday night for a Halloween eve contest in District 4-2A. Knowing well that Tigers love pepper and hate cinnamon, the Green Demons had plenty of cinnamon candy for their visitors.
