The Ville Platte Dixie Youth Major All-Stars are headed back to the World Series.

It was a most productive season for the Ville Platte Girls Softball Association 10U All-Stars.

Good things come in small packages.
At least that is what the VPGSA 6U All-Stars proved last weekend in the PONY World Series held in Youngsville.

The Ville Platte 8U softball all-stars may not have met their main goal at the PONY World Series held last weekend in Youngsville, but according to head coach Jason Fontenot the opportunity to play on that level is something that he and his team will remember forever.

Two years ago nine of the 12 players on the Dixie Youth Major All-Stars were one out away from sealing the state title and moving on to the World Series.

The Ville Platte Dixie Youth Super 10 All-Stars put forth a valiant effort this past week in Morgan City at the North Regional tournament, but just could not muster the offense to finish, as they fell in the final game to West Carroll and took home the runner-up title.

The streak is over for the Mamou Dixie Youth Super 10 All-Stars.
After winning both the sub-district tournament and the district tournament, Mamou fell in the final game of the South Regional tournament, despite a courageous effort to battle back out of the loser’s bracket.

NATCHITOCHES – Even though it has been a full three years since it opened its doors, Doug Ireland remains in awe by the state-of-the-art facility on historic Front Street that serves as home to the Louisiana Sports Hall of Fame Museum.

It has been a long season for the Ville Platte Dixie Youth T-Ball All-Stars. But, one thing is for sure, according to head coach Nick Fontenot, these young players have given tons of effort the entire time.

The Mamou and Pine Prairie Dixie Youth T-Ball All-Stars brought gritty play and an endless determination to the state tournament held in Ville Platte this past weekend.
