The Sacred Heart Trojans needed a complete win to shake off a disappointing loss to Pine Prairie. Using a potent offense and a bend but don’t break defense, the Trojans took a commanding 46-20 win over the North Central Hurricanes Friday.

The Ville Platte High Bulldogs got one step closer to a playoff spot by defeating the Port Barre Red Devils Friday night by a score of 18-0. With the win, the Bulldogs receive a much-needed 10 power points toward the playoffs.

The Trojans of Sacred Heart traveled to face off against the Hurricanes of North Central Friday night. The Sacred Heart Trojans came out on fire, forcing a punt on the opening drive of the game, allowing them to take over at midfield.

DeQuincy rolls past Mamou to open district play

In 1492, Columbus sailed the ocean blue. On this Columbus Day weekend 2014, DeQuincy came into Mamou as the Green Demons crowned a new homecoming queen. In the end, DeQuincy rolled past Mamou with a final score of 40-0 to open up district play with a record of 1-0; while Mamou fell to 0-1.

Panthers no match for seventh-ranked Bears

The Pine Prairie Panthers went into the game against Church Point knowing it would take a whole heck of a lot to upset the seventh-ranked Bears. From the beginning of the game, Church Point left no doubt as to why they are one of the top-ranked schools in 3A football.

Bearcats pound Tarpons to go 2-1 in district play
