Fuselier’s Pharmacy in Pine Prairie was robbed by an armed suspect first thing Thursday morning while six employees, and a high school senior shadowing the pharmacist, were inside.

The Rotary Club of Ville Platte installed its new officers Tuesday evening during its yearly installation banquet.

It was a pretty decent start to the all-star season for the Ville Platte Dixie Super 10 all-stars, as they took home second place in the sub-district tournament held this past weekend in Pine Prairie.

As the saying goes, you want to peak at the right time of the season.
But, for the Ville Platte Girl’s Softball Association 10-and-under all-stars, the peak has been reached and now they are just trying to ride the wave of success all the way back to the World Series.

The Chataignier Village Council met in its regularly scheduled meeting Monday night and discussed a half­shell business coming to the village that is turtle powered.

Budget issues dominated the proceedings of the Village of Turkey at the regular monthly meeting Tuesday evening. The Village Council accepted the final amended budget for the current fiscal year, and it adopted a budget for the upcoming 2017 fiscal year.
