At the opening of Pine Prairie’s council meeting last Thursday, the village’s mayor Terry Savant informed council members of updates that have been made recently.
Savant said, “We have installed the new scoreboards at the Dixie Youth, and they are up and running.”

71-year old threatens family member with AK47, threatens Basil Mayor

According to an Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office press release, an arrest was made of 71-year old Robert R. Guillory Sr. after he threatened a family member with an AK47, and then later threatened Basile Mayor Mark Denette.

Time for teachers

Before holding the Evangeline Parish School Board meeting on Wednesday night, school board members, faculty, students, and individuals from the community gathered at Ville Platte High’s auditorium to recognize the district’s teachers (TOY) and principal of the year.
