Sacred Heart graduate Wesley Fontenot was named to the Louisiana High School All-Star game recently. Fontenot, who had a stellar season for the Trojans, played multiple roles for the SHHS squad and was rewarded by being named to the West Roster.

The Sacred Heart Lady Trojans had an amazing season in 2014. They finished as the Co-District 5-1A Champions and made it to the second round of the playoffs. They fell to Cedar Creek, who eventually went on to win the Class 1A State Championship.

For decades, Ville Platte has been a baseball icon in Louisiana. Teams from all ages and the local high school produced great teams and even a handful of state championships.

They accomplished a feat that had not been done since 1993. The Sacred Heart Trojans Baseball team made it to the state finals and had a shot to earn the state title. They ran up against a very good Cedar Creek team that had a very good offense.

Ville Platte High School competed in the Class 3A State Track and Field Meet for the first time in nearly two decades. The VPHS track squad had been very dominant in Class 2A, but as a small school in 3A, they have run into some obstacles.

Sacred Heart Head Track Coach and Athletic Director Robert Soileau took five hard working young Trojan athletes to the Class 1A State Track and Field Meet. The event took place at Bernie Moore Stadium at LSU in Baton Rouge.

The heavily favored Ouachita Christian Eagles came to Ville Platte with an impressive 23-9 overall record. They were also carrying the Class 1A top seed, which is almost a sure ride into the state tournament each year. However, someone forgot to tell the Eagles that No.

Mamou Head Coach Kim Manuel and her talented band of ladies started out the season on a mission. They won four straight when it all began in February. They played some tough competition in various tournaments before running into a rigorous district schedule.

When the ninth seeded Trojans traveled to north Louisiana to meet the eighth seeded Mangham Dragons, most SHHS fans and others around the state expected a dog fight to be on their hands.
