Lady Trojans come up short against Tensas

Sacred Heart went to Tensas and gave the higher seed all they could handle. The game started out a little lopsided, but before too long the Lady Trojans were right in it.

Top ranked VPHS hosts Thomas Jefferson today

When was the last time the Ville Platte High Lady Bulldogs were the top ranked team in the playoffs? When was the last time the Lady Bulldogs were in Class 3A? Both are happening as this article is being read. The Lady Bulldogs (26-2) are having one of the best seasons in school history.

SHHS, Basile get rolling in Class 1A tonight

For girl’s basketball at the high school level, things are set for the 2014 playoffs in Class 1A. In Evangeline Parish, two teams will get rolling tonight. Basile and Sacred Heart have each earned a spot. The two teams will have to travel, but both have a shot to win in the opening round.

No. 9 Mamou hosts Kinder

Mamou earned the ninth seed and will host Kinder, a district opponent, tonight at 6 p.m. to begin the Class 2A playoffs. The Lady Demons crushed Kinder in the regular season by scores of 61-42 and 62-46 respectively.

Lady Trojans drop crucial league games

Going into the final week of the season, the Lady Trojans were sitting somewhere around the 23rd seed in the unofficial Class 1A power ratings.

VPHS destroys Livonia

Ville Platte High proved why they have the top rating in Class 3A when they destroyed the Livonia Lady Wildcats 75-42.
Livonia’s home crowd was stunned and awed as the Lady Bulldogs put up 41 points in the first half of the contest alone.

Just because it is their first season in Class 3A, the Ville Platte Bulldogs are not trying to miss the playoffs or be pushed around. They demonstrated that when they manhandled the Livonia Wildcats in Ville Platte by a score of 77-54.

Andy Lafleur, a senior at Sacred Heart High School, was honored at the Southwest Louisiana All-League All-Star Team Banquet at River Oaks Catering and Convention Center in Lafayette, on Tuesday, January 21st.

When you work hard in the classroom and on the football field, people seem to notice. Ville Platte High Senior Kendall Ardoin is living proof of that. He has been an impact player on the football field as a tight end and a defensive end since his sophomore year.

SHHS girls crush Catholic of PC

The Sacred Heart Lady Trojans went into Friday night’s contest against Catholic of Pointe Coupee looking at the playoffs and hoping to improve their standing. They were sitting at the 23rd slot in the unofficial power ratings of Class 1A.
