The Sacred Heart Trojans are hosting a playoff game for the first time since 2005. They defeated Lake Arthur in the first round and went on to host Ouachita Christian.

Any time you have to go on the road in the opening round of the playoffs it is going to be tough. However, here and there upsets are pulled off and things happen.

Basile, the fourth seed in Class 1A, earned a bye and will not get into playoff action until next week. The 10-0 squad will most likely face Plain Dealing again, a team that gave them a tough time last year. Just like Deja vu, Basile is poised to meet the same two teams they did last season.

The word perfection is not one that many can use often. In fact, in football it’s very rare. At Basile High School, perfection hasn’t been said since 1995. Now, the 2013 Basile Bearcats can add their names to that illustrious list.

Despite a valiant effort at a come-back win on Senior Night, the Ville Platte Bulldogs lost, 20-18, to the Northwest Raiders to close out the regular season.

After playing their best game of the season against the Point Coupee Central Cougars, the Trojans of Sacred Heart had to get back on the road and head to Eunice to take on their long-time rivals, St. Ed’s.

After a long season of offensive woes and lack of production, the Mamou Green Demons ended their season with a 51-7 loss to the Kinder Yellow Jackets.

Pine Prairie (2-8)saw their football season come to an end at the hands of Port Barre Friday night. The Red Devils took a 34-0 victory.
