Third-ranked Basile seeks title

While there is a lot of talk and buzz going on right now about Basile’s high poll ranking in over a decade, the 9-0 Bearcats are ready to clinch their District 4-1A Championship tomorrow night when they host the Elton Indians (4-4, 3-2). Basile (9-0, 5-0) is not going to overlook Elton.

Trojans look to spoil Cougars reign

There are a lot of things on the line for this week nine District 5-1A contest between the Sacred Heart Trojans (5-2, 3-0) and the defending district champion Point Coupee Central Cougars (6-2, 3-0).

Sixth-ranked Livonia visits Pine Prairie

After putting up a very strong performance last week against Northwest High School, things are not getting any easier for the Pine Prairie Panthers. The sixth ranked team in Class 3A is coming to town to face the Panthers. Livonia is coming off of a 50-25 win over Ville Platte High last week.

Hot handed Bears welcome Bulldogs

After battling one of the best teams in Class 3A last week, the Ville Platte Bulldogs (3-4, 1-2) meet the Church Point Bears (6-3, 3-0). The Bulldogs fell to sixth-ranked Livonia last week 50-25 in Ville Platte, while Church Point went to Port Barre and took a 31-8 win.

Mamou goes to Lake Arthur to meet inconsistent Tigers

Coming into week nine, it’s no secret things have been tough for Mamou. They have had to battle some very tough teams in a district that has two teams in Class 2A’s top ten and some other very formidable members. Mamou itself has also seen difficulties in their off-season schedule.

SHS Trojans run through Hornets

After walking through four opponents who they were expected to dominate, the Trojans of Sacred Heart went on the road to tangle with a Catholic of Pointe Coupee team that came into Friday night’s game with a 3-4 record.

Donation helps Mamou Staff communicate on sidelines

On the Mamou sidelines, fans may notice the coaching staff utilizing brand new head phone sets. Pine Prairie Energy helped the 2013 staff by donated a brand new set of headphones. The devices allow the coaches to stay in touch as they coach from the sidelines or from the press box.

Northwest outlasts Pine Prairie

Both Pine Prairie and Northwest High School were 2-5 going into their week eight confrontation. Pine Prairie gave Northwest all they could handle for the first half of the contest, but then the Raiders pulled away with a 42-28 win.

Bearcats remain perfect with a 34-0 whipping of Trojans

Basile, fourth ranked in Class 1A, crushed the East Beauregard Trojans 34-0 in a league 4-1A title. The win keeps Basile at 8-0 overall and 5-0 in league play.

LHS Wildcats overpower Bulldogs

Rushing. Passing. Pick-six. Kick-off return. Punt return.
The second-ranked Livonia Wildcats scored almost every way possible en route to a 50-25 blistering of the Ville Platte Bulldogs.
