More than 300 Evangeline Parish residents have taken advantage of the early voting period for the upcoming March 5, 2016 election.
As of 11:15 a.m. Wednesday, a total of 335 voters, either in person or by mail, had cast their votes for the election.

On Thursday, local funeral homes in Evangeline Parish, as well as funeral homes in neighboring parishes received a certified mailed letter from the Evangeline Parish Sheriff’s Office informing them that the sheriff’s office “will no longer be in the funeral home escort business.”
