2008 Junior Miss Crowley contestants

CROWLEY – Those competing in the 2008 Junior Miss Crowley Pageant are Payton Marcella Istre, Kaleigh Elise Credeur, Carlie Elizabeth Lormand, Haley Mae Spell and Sherry Anna Daigle.

Payton Marcella Istre is the thirteen year old daughter of Monty and Natacha Istre. Payton stands 5’8” tall, and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Payton is a student at Lakewood Academy where she plans to become active in 4-H by showing pigs. She has always been an Honor Roll student, but has earned straight A’s this past year. While attending Crowley Middle School, she place first two years in a row in the Social Studies Fair, and was involved in the art club, as well as band.

Payton is currently attending the Barbizan Modeling and Acting School. She has recently been selected to go to the International Modeling Training Association in Los Angeles. There, she will have the opportunity to do runway modeling and sitcom movies.

Kaleigh Elise Credeur is the thirteen year old daughter of Randall and Tara Credeur. She stands 4’9” tall and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Kaleigh is a student at Redemptorist Catholic School and is involved in many activities such as BETA club, student council, 4-H club, and choir. Due to an interest in sports, she participates in cheerleading, volleyball, basketball, baseball and track.

Kaleigh has received many honors while at Redemptorist such as the BETA Club Award, the Presidential Athletic Award, the Religion Award, the 4-H Outstanding Membership Award, and the Cafeteria RCS Award and well as being selected for the 4-H Junior Leadership Program.

In her spare time, Kaleigh enjoys dancing and tumbling. She also volunteers at the Christian Care Center, and participates in the Food for Family Drive and the Ladies Auxiliary.

Carlie Elizabeth Lormand is the thirteen year old daughter of Todd and Gayle Lormand. She stands 5’4” tall and has brown hair and blue-green eyes.

Carlie is presently attending St. Michael Elementary where she is active in the 4-H club, student council, and the Saints club. She also enjoys participating in several sports such as volleyball, basketball and cheerleading.

Carlie has received many honors while attending school such as being chosen as princess to represent St. Michael in the Junior Miss Rice Festival Pageant. She was also chosen to attend the summer UL Gifted Program and attend the LASC Leadership Camp.

In Carlie’s spare time, she enjoys dancing at the Dolores Nutt School of Dance, where she has studied for nine years. She also volunteers as a crew leader for vacation Bible school. She enjoys the theater, and has acted in three school plays as well as four plays with the Acadia Players. She has also taken on the responsibility of directing one of her school productions.

Haley Mae Spell is the thirteen year old daughter of Emily Spell and James Istre, Jr. Haley stand 4’11’’ tall and has brown hair and brown eyes.

Harley is currently attending St. Michael Elementary where she enjoys participating in volleyball and basketball. She is also a member of the 4-H club and the Saints club. While at St. Michael, Haley has won such awards as the Kindness Award and the Good Behavior Award.

In her spare time, Haley enjoys dancing at the Dolores Nutt School of Dance. She also enjoys acting in local community theater. She has been awarded roles in three different productions with the Acadia Players.

Haley is being sponsored by M’Elise Trahan, candidate for City Judge.

Sherry Anna Daigle is the thirteen year old daughter of Shannon and Tammy Daigle. She has brown hair and brown eyes.

She will be attending Midland High School in the upcoming school year. While in junior high she participated in several activities such as basketball, the library club, band, cheerleading and 4-H where she held the office of sergeant at arms.

Sherry also participated in the Science Fair at her school, where she took home the first place blue ribbon for her project. In Sherry’s spare time, she enjoys raising money with her family members to benefit muscular dystropy.
