2008 NJCAA Division II World Series

MILLINGTON, Tenn. - The LSUE Bengals scored four runs in the bottom of the first with home runs by Boomer Blanchard, Kellen Bozeman and a two-run blast by Perry Smith.

After adding a run in the fifth and two more in the eighth, the Bengals survived a four-run scare by DeMoines in the top of the ninth to escape with the first round win.

The Bengals will take on Elgin at 7:30 p.m. Sunday in the second round.
