Another nationwide, voluntary toy recall announced

WASHINGTON – The U.S. Consumer Product Safety Commission, announced recently a voluntary recall of the Play Wonder Toy Sundae Sets by Battat Inc., and Battat Magnabild Magnetic Building Toys or Sets.

The Sundae Sets were sold exclusively at Target Stores nationwide from December 2006 through December 2007 for about $10. About 22,000 were sold. This toy includes a wooden sundae set toys with six wooden scoops of ice cream, and three cherries attached to the top, and banana slices, a spoon and a bowl. The ice cream scoops are brown, green, pink, yellow and purple. The pieces can be put together with velcro. The hazard posed is that the wooden cherries on top of the sundae pose as a choking hazard to small children. The model number is DPCI-204-12-0526, and is located on the packaging.

The Magnetic Building Sets includes an 108 piece(item number BB1439H) and the 68 piece (item number BAT-34) sets. The 108 piece set comes in a rotating display case containing sixty one-inch rods with magnets and metal balls. The 68 piece set comes in a window box and has forty-four one-inch multicolored rods with magnets and twenty-four metal balls. In raised lettering, each rod has the word Magnabild and has the number BB1439H hangs from a tag attached to the display case. BAT-34 is found on the box. The product was sold through various retailers and online sellers from July 2005 to February 2008 for $20 to $35. The hazard posed by this product are that the small magnets inside the case may fall out, and if swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforations or blockages, which can be fatal. About 7,000 boxes of this product has been sold nationwide.
