Anzalone, Credeur united in matrimony

On Saturday, May 17, amidst the majestic oaks surrounding the chapel at the Academy of the Sacred Heart in Grand Coteau, Amanda Spalding Anzalone and Timothy Matthew Credeur of Crowley became husband and wife. The nuptial mass was officiated by the groom’s maternal uncle, Father Marshall Boulet of Elton.

Amanda is the daughter of Dr. and Mrs. Charles Lane Anzalone, Sr. of Crowley. Maternal grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Edward Thomas Cassidy, Jr. of Jennings and her paternal grandparents are Mrs. Elaine Anzalone and the late Frank Vincent Anzalone of Monroe.

Tim is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Credeur, Jr. of Crowley. Ms. Credeur is the former Naneen Boulet of Crowley. Grandparents on the maternal side are Mrs. Eloise Boulet and the late Hughit Boulet of Crowley and his paternal grandparents are the late Mr. and Mrs. Raymond Credeur, Sr. of Rayne.

Both Amanda and Tim are 2003 graduates of Notre Dame High School. They both attended the University of Louisiana at Lafayette where Amanda majored in fashion merchandising and Tim majored in petroleum engineering. While attending the university, Amanda was a member of Kappa Delta Sorority. Both will receive their respective degrees during commencement exercises this fall.

The serenity of the chapel and the beauty of the architecture set the tone for a ceremony that was both simple yet timeless and inspirational.

While the four piece quartet played the age-old strains of beloved hymns, the bridal attendants were escorted down the aisle wearing deep royal blue tea length dresses and carrying simple hand held bouquets of mixed spring flowers in shades of palest yellow.

Attending the bride were her two sisters, Brooke Thomas Anzalone, maid of honor, and Katherine Anzalone Broussard, matron of honor. Also in attendance were dear friends Natalie Claire Istre and Natalie Marie Lambousy. Isabel Credeur, niece of the groom, served as flower girl.

Groomsmen included life-long friend of the groom, Duane Ledford as best man and Jonathan Katira and Sean Hoffpauir, friends of the groom; and Charles Lane Anzalone, Jr., brother of the bride.

Ushering guests to their seats were Bryan Johnson and Luke Leonards. Greeting guests with a program was Chris Credeur, brother of the groom. Serving as ring bearer was the groom’s nephew, Brennan Credeur.

Amanda entered the chapel on the arm of her father, radiant in an imported Alencon lace gown featuring a halter style bodice and sweeping train. Her hair was pulled up and fastened loosely with a pale yellow orchid. She held a lovely spray of the same yellow orchids in her hand.

Amanda was presented a blue topaz ring as a special remembrance from her older sister and blue topaz earrings as a wedding gift from her parents.

For her daughter’s special day, the mother of the bride chose a three piece street length designer suit of pearlized white silk shantung. The asymmetrical jacket featured bracelet-length sleeves and a portrait collar. Gold accessories completed the outfit.

The mother of the groom was lovely in a three piece Spencer Alexis suit in fairy dust. The jacket featured cuffs and lapels in pewter burnout kimono sleeves. The tea length skirt featured uneven lace treatment at the hemline. Both mothers were presented with matching orchid corsages for the special day.

Readers for the memorable day were David Christian Cassidy, godfather of the bride and Jan Hargroder Herpin, godmother of the groom.

Gift bearers were Raymond, Bonnie, and Madelyn Credeur, brother of the groom and his family.

Immediately following the wedding, guests were invited to the Wolff Ballroom in historic Washington, Louisiana for a gala reception.

The bride’s cake consisted of three square graduated layers of pale yellow fondant embellished by swiss dots with hand formed orchids cascading down one side.

The groom’s cake celebrated his love for fantasy football with the name and colors representing his favorite team.

Guests were entertained by the sounds of First Class as well wishers ate and toasted the young couple’s long and happy life together.

After honeymooning at the Sandals Resort in the Bahamas, the couple will make their new home in Durango, Colorado beginning in August.

On the evening prior to the wedding, the groom’s parents entertained with a rehearsal supper at Fezzo’s of Scott.
