Ardoin and two juveniles charged with burglary

A 27-year-old man has been charged with two counts of burglary, along with two juveniles, after several vehicles were broken into recently.

Ville Platte Police Chief Neal Lartigue said Steve James Ardoin, 27, 610 W. Lincoln Road, Ville Platte, has been charged with two counts of burglary and one count of criminal damage to property over $500. Authorities believe Ardoin broke into two vehicles and damaged another while attempting to gain entry into it.

Two male juveniles, one 14 years of age and the other 13 years of age, were charged with burglary and criminal damage to property over $500 March 24. Lartigue said the juveniles were charged after a witness identified them. He said they allegedly broke into one vehicle in the 500 block of Evangeline St. and damaged another vehicle.

He encouraged residents to call the department with any information involving illegal activities. He said all callers will remain anonymous.
