Q. Do I need a fishing license to crab in public areas in Cameron Parish with a string and bait?

A: No, you do not need a fishing license.

Note: However, if you are in a Wildlife Management area you need a minimum of a Louisiana Wildlife Stamp or a current hunting or fishing license.

Q: What is the size and limit for crabs on public areas in Cameron Parish?

A: There is no mininum recreational size limit for blue crabs. The daily and possession limit is 12 dozen per person, daily and in possession.

Note: For crab limits on Wildlife Management Areas, you need to check for legal limits for each particular area.
