Basin the heart of Atchafalaya National Heritage Area

And that river is the defining geographical characteristic of Atchafalaya National Heritage Area.

A dozen or so citizens attending a public hearing in Eunice to offer input on a management plan for the area talked about cultures and music and food in the 14 parishes which constitute the area, but in the end they agreed it all comes back to the big river.
