Beatrice Carlin

CROWLEY – A mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, April 17, 2008 at Saint Michael Catholic Church for Beatrice Frances Carlin, 94, who died Monday, April 14 at Crowley American Legion Hospital.

Father Gary Schexnayder will celebrate the Mass and committal service at Woodlawn Cemetery.

Visitation will begin on Wednesday, April 16, 2008 from 10 a.m. until 10 p.m. and Thursday, April 17, 2008 from 8 a.m. until services time. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday in the funeral home chapel.

Ms. Carlin was born September 26, 1913 in Pineville, La. She was raised in Crowley and graduated from St. Michael’s Catholic School. She was a Southern Bell operator and night supervisor for 32 years. She was a Nanny to all and her home was always open to anyone who needed her.

She is survived by a sister, Annie “Shorty” Greer of Houston; a son, Thomas “Boo” Nordyke of Crowley, two nephews, Charles E. Moffitt and James Pettitt, four nieces, Aline Guidry, Linda Boudreaux, Joyce Nevers and Judy Smith, two grandchildren, Gwendolyn Nordyke Sensat and Cindy Berkin; five great grandchildren, Justin Arabie, Shea Berkin, Nicky Berkin, Sarah Sensat and Michael Sensat, many loving nieces and nephews and Nanny to all.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Armas and Julianne Fontenot Carlin, a brother, Joseph Cal Carlin, 4 sisters, Beulah Simon, Myrtle Moffitt, Corrine Haley and Nettie Pettitt
