Bengals sweep Hinds Tournament

CLINTON, Miss. – The LSU at Eunice Bengals added three more wins to their belts in the Hinds Tournament, including a triple grand slam finale against Kishwaukee College.
The Bengals opened up play Thursday morning with a 4-1 win over Coahoma Community College.
Leading 2-0 into the seventh inning, pinch hitter Tyler Slocum wrapped up the win with a two-run homer to left field.
Later that afternoon, LSUE scored a 5-4 extra-inning win over Bossier Parish Community College.
With the score 4-4 after seven innings, the game went into an extra inning.
The Bengals loaded the bases with now outs before Nate Peterson’s base hit scored the winning run.
On Friday, the Bengals dished out a 19-4 beating to Kishwaukee in an explosive mercy-rule finale.
Kellen Bozeman, Boomer Blanchard and Sam Fontenot each hit grand slam home runs for the Bengals.
Peterson hit a one-run home run, and Matt Creel scored two runs on a homer as well.
With the wins, the Bengals are now 15-2 for the season as they take to the road Wednesday for a doubleheader against Baton Rouge Community College at 4 p.m.
