Beta Sigma April meeting

The April 1, Laureate Mu Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi meeting was held at the home of Edna Dilly.

Officiating was chapter president Clementine Kirsch. Also present at the meeting were members Shirley Griffin, Nancy Tislow, Jane Love, Elsie Rowell, Gloria Cart, Jean Hanks, Gloria Stutes and Edna Dilly, hostess.

Edna Dilly presented a program on the book, ‘Walkin’ with God ain’t for wimps’ by Karen O’Connor. Then each member read a selection from the spirit lifting stories for the young at heart, which brought smiles and chuckles to the other members.

Mrs. Kirsch led the business portion of the meting assigning duties for Founder’s Day, April 30.

Election of officers for 2008-09 years were as following; Gloria Stutes, president; Nancy Tislow, vice-president; Jean Hanks, recording secretary and publicity; and Elsie Rowell, treasurer. They will be install in May.

The next meeting will be at the home of Connie Jaubert, whose program will be titled “Women alone”.

The Culture outing for April is, the Art Gala to be held on the fifth.

Elsie Rowell collected cornbread mix that she delivered to Christian Care Center and members were reminded to bring powder milk at the next meeting.

Following the meeting, hostess Edna Dilly served refreshments to members present.
